Hero Arts 2011 Catalog

Just a friendly reminder that if you pre-pay for your 2011 Hero Arts Calendar before the preview party this Saturday, you will receive a discount. Catalogs will be sold for $10.99 normally but if you pre-pay now, you can get the catalog for $8. (Sorry, the last post indicated normal price would be $10, but it should have read $10.99).

We will also be hosting a 2011 Hero Arts Preview Party where select stamps from the new catalog will be available for purchase. You are not going to want to miss this opportunity to get all the newest items from the catalog!! Stock is limited, so we'll be taking pre-paid orders on other catalog items. All pre-paid orders will receive 20% off their order placed at the preview party (12/18). Hope you can join us for all the fun!

Christmas Card Contest!!!

Hi Everyone!

We thought it would be fun and festive to have a Christmas Card Contest! Well, it doesn't have to specifically be Christmas, but some type of holiday themed card is just fine. Here's the 411 on the contest rules:

1. Drop off cards at the store by Christmas Eve to be eligible to win. You may enter more than once.
   
2. All cards should be handmade by YOU! Please put your name on the back of the card so we'll know who made it.
   
3. Please use items that Island Scrapbooking carries. Cards containing other products that are not carried in the store will not be eligible for the win.
4. A random winner will be pulled from the eligible entries, so EVERYONE can participate!
5. All cards will be kept by Island Scrapbooking and maybe displayed in the store or on this blog and will not be returned.
   

Winner will receive an Island Scrapbooking Gift Certificate! We will post the winner of the contest on this blog. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

December 2010 Newsletter

Ho Ho Ho! The holiday season is here! Time to finish up those holiday project and go Christmas shopping for all your fellow crafters out there. We had a great Black Friday sale after Thanksgiving and our customers got some great deals! Thanks to everyone who came out that day to check out all of our specials.

December Craft Night

Just a friendly reminder that the December Craft Night has been cancelled. We will let you know when the next Craft Night is scheduled in the new year.

Holiday Schedule Changes:

Saturday, December 4th: Closed- We will be participating in a Craft Fair (see below for more info)

Friday, December 24th: 10:00am-2:00pm (closing early)
Saturday, December 25th: Closed for Christmas

Tuesday, December 28th: After Christmas Sale 10am-6pm (open late for shoppers who have to work)

December 29th- January 15th: Closed for Inventory (if we open earlier, we'll make an annoucement)

Christmas Craft Fair

Jenny, one of our DT members got really ambitious and decided to host a Christmas Craft Fair at her home. She, along with other Island Scrapbooking Customers will be selling their handmade crafts on:

Date: Saturday, December 4th (THIS SATURDAY!)

Time: 9:00am-2:00pm (unless we sell out sooner)

Location: see store for address/directions

We will also be having a booth at this fair and will be selling some of our Island Scrapbooking laser cuts and handmade cards. Please come and say hi if you stop by the fair. Because we are participating in this fair, the store will not be open that day, so please plan accordingly. Thank you for your understanding!

We've decided to participate in a craft fair on Saturday, December 4th from 9:00am-2:00pm (or until we sell out!) and will be closed on that day. Last Christmas Card Class

We had our last Christmas Card Classs yesterday and I must thank the students that attended for signing up without even knowing what project we'd be making! To thank them all, I did a bonus project which is the A2 card box above. You can't see but the bottom of the box is turquoise blue like the belly band. They were really happy to learn how to make this easy box.


This next card was inspired by all you bloggers out there. I've seen different versions of this punch Christmas tree all over the internet, so I thought I'd teach my students how to make this easy peasy tree too. Since the tree was made using a heart punch, I thought it would look cute decorated with heart ornaments.


This last card was a CASE from the Hero Arts Holiday Catalog Supplement. I loved this card when I saw it and wanted to teach the class how to make it too. The more I use this tree stamp set the more I love it! It's so elegant looking, especially when its embossed in gold. The added benefit is no coloring, which is what my students always request. I also like how the background came out. It might be hard to see but the background is stamped with the Hero Arts musical notes background cling in Distress Antique Linen. I love how Antique Linen looks on cream colored cardstock!


We had fun yesterday and I appreciate everyone who came on a Friday for this last class. I'll probably hold more Christmas Card classes again next year since this year's classes were a big hit!


By the way, the store just got in a small Hero Arts order with some re-orders of some items that sold out earlier. And don't forget our Hero Arts preview party coming up in December. You can pre-pay for your catalog now!
