New Memory Box Dies In Stock!

I'm in love with these new Memory Box dies!  I'm really into birdies now days and love love love cute birdcages, so these were a surprise to see when I visited the store recently!  In addition to these cuties, we also got in some of their new leaves, flourishes, etc.  Many of them are Christmas themed, which are perfect for upcoming holiday projects!  These will go quickly, so hurry in if you want to snap these up!

New Class- This Saturday!

Are you free this Saturday?  Wondering what you'll be doing?  Shopping, crafting, nothing???  If you are free, you might want to check out Debi's new class featured here...

Students will make three projects focusing on how to use and coordinate printed papers and make your own background paper!  Believe it or not, there is a formula to this.  What you may think is chaos using multiple printed papers, may not be so challenging when you stick to the formula.  Students will leave with two cards and a tile coaster!

New Hawaiian Products!

If you haven't been in the shop lately, you are missing out!  Tons of new products have arrived  recently that its too much to share in one post.. I'll post more later this week...  But for now, wanted to share some new Hawaiian themed products by Island Paperie, including new Hawaiian themed stamps!  These stamps are perfect for cardmakers and coordinate well with their paper line.

Customer Samples

In case you haven't been to the store in awhile, thought I'd share some samples from our beloved customers!

First up are a couple of Memory Box samples by Don Barnes.  Thank you Don!  He used the popular butterfly and added some dragonflies, woodland branch, petal party, and savannah border dies.

This second card was made using the swirly tree die along with some Island Scrapbooking mini sakura laser cuts.  He paired it with some cork and a Love sentiment also by Island Scrapbooking.

And we also received this cute sample from Carol T. using Paper Smooches stamps, Doodlebug paper and an EK success punch.  Thanks Carol!

Stamp Camp #2 Repeat Class Added

Due to popular demand, we have added on an additional Stamp Camp #2 class with Debi & Jenny!  The first session filled up so quickly that we decided to offer another session.  Here are the 6 projects you will be making in this class.

Stamp Camp #2 Repeat Session:
Date:  Saturday, September 1st
Time:  10am-2:30pm
Cost:  $38
Bento (optional):  $6.50 (place TBD).  If you are interested in ordering a bento, please pre-pay at the shop when you sign up for the class.  You may also bring your own lunch (lunch will be limited to 1/2 hour).  Please bring your own drink as this is a long class.  You may also want to bring a sweater as the classroom tends to get chilly.

Required Supplies:  scissors, double stick tape, craft mat, paper trimmer, and Tim Holtz water brushes.

Optional Supplies:  (These are not required, however if you have them we encourage you to bring them with you as it will help you to finish faster). Distress inks/stains, heat tool.

August 2012 Newsletter

Wow!  The summer sure did fly by.  We hope everyone had a fun and memorable summer. If we have not seen you in a while, please stop in and tell us what you have been up to.  Before we know it the holiday season will be upon us and we all know that in the craft world we want to get a jump start on our Holiday crafting projects. We are expecting many new items to be on the shelves soon that will assist you in your seasonal creations.

Reminder to anyone interested in attending the upcoming first ever Hilo Paper Jam, we still have applications available. If you apply with one of our applications or list Island Scrapbooking as a referral, please notify us as we are giving away a package of words for cards for those refering us. If we get at least 10 referrals we will get an extra table that allows us more room to bring product as a vendor at the paper jam:)  Not only will we be a vendor on Saturday, but the store WILL also be open for all your paper crafting needs.
Sister Stamps has celebrated their 1st Birthday this past month and is announcing their 9th release already. We are taking pre-orders and if you pay by end of business 8/11/12 you will save 10% on your purchase of these adorable upcoming Sister Stamps.

Saturday, August 11 HUGE Summer Sale. 50% OFF ALL Red Tag Items and other fabulous in-store specials. 

Not only is it time to think about Holiday crafting but Fall is right around the corner.  We all know what that means....Fall/Spring Clean Sale!!!  We were not sure if we were going host this fall season, but we have decided to do so on a slightly smaller scale. There will be fewer sellors but hopefully more space to present things in an easy to see fashion. The Fall Clean Sale will be on Saturday September 15, 2012 from 10a.m. to 2 p.m.   

Also, don't forget October is Island Scrapbookings 9th Anniversary.  Plans are being made now for this very special event. Exciting!

August Classes:
Stamp Camp #2 (Repeat of June Class)

Stamp Camp Session One is back by popular demand!!! Jenny and Debi will each teach you 3 different projects for a total of 6 projects. This is a repeat of last Months Stamp Camp. There are only a couple of seat left, so if you are interested call today! NOTE:  This is a repeat class.      Date:  Saturday, August 4th  Time:  10:00am-2:30pm Cost:  $38  Bento:  $6.00 (small bento from Cousin's).  If interested in this option Jenny will pick it up for you if you pre pay at the shop. You can always bring your own lunch or get something from Subway or Lucy's accross the street. Please bring a drink as this is an all day class, till 2:30. Remember also that the classroom gets a little chilly because it has to cool the entire shop.  You may want to bring a light sweater. 
Required Supplies: scissors, double stick tape, craft mat, 2 Distress Markers in same color family (i.e. pinks used in sample but they can bring any two colors that are similar), Tim Holtz Water Brush (fine detail tip).

Optional Supplies:  (These are not required, however if you have them, we encourage you to bring them to class so that you can finish your projects faster.)  Distress Stains, Distress Crackle Paint- Rock Candy, Heat Tool, Paint Brush for Mod Podge. 


Stamp Camp #2

 Jenny and Debi are co-teaching again .They have come up with 6 exciting new projects featuring distress inks/stains. If you thought you learned a lot in the first class, you will learn just as much in the second class also.  This class showcases six different card ideas. These ideas can complement what you learned in the first session or can stand alone even if you have not attended the first session.  If you are interested please sign up and pay for your seat now as this class is in high demand and will fill quickly.
