Easter Fun!

Hi Everyone!

Our next Craft Night is this Friday (4/2/10) from 5:00pm-6:30pm. We have a lot of fun things planned for that night that you won't want to miss out on.

To start the celebration, the store has all Easter themed items on sale for 25% off for this week only. Sale ends on Saturday, 4/3/10. Stop by soon for best selection.

During Craft Night hours, we have some special fun planned for all of you:

Bunny Bag Make 'n Take: Jenny will show you how to make this cute bunny bag perfect for holding Easter treats.

Next, we thought it would be fun to Easter Egg die cut hunt: Shoppers can hunt for die cut eggs throughout the store. After you find all the eggs, turn in your paper and you will be entered to win an Easter goodie bag from Island Scrapbooking. This contest will continue on Saturday, 4/3/10. A winner will be drawn the following week and announced on the blog.

Finally, there will be a plastic egg prize pull. When you are ready to check out, you will have the chance to pick a plastic egg from our Easter basket. Each egg will have a prize listed, some of them are regular prizes and some of them are special discounts. Limit one egg per customer. Once you pull your egg, you will not be able to add merchandise to your purchase if you received a discount prize. Prizes are only good for Craft Night Purchases, you may not save the coupon for future purchases or special orders. Thank you for following these rules.

In addition to all the fun, we will still host a Card Drawing. Please bring in your Easter or Spring themed card if you wish to particpate. Participation is option but the more the merrier. We will assign numbers to each card and participants will pull numbers to see who gets which card.

Hope you can make it! See you then!

Have you met Lil' Bug Emma yet? She's so cute all dressed up like a butterfly! I just love her belly too- makes her more loveable!

I wanted to try this Side Step Card and decided that Lil' Bug Emma was the perfect image for this card. Its just like the sentiment was made for this image, but its actually a Hero Arts cling set called Bugs and Kisses. The set also contains a bee, ladybug, and Hershey kisses stamp too.

Debi and I love Cherry Emma, so we both made projects using this image. As stated in the previous email, she is currently sold out, but if you want to order one, contact the store.

They not only have adorable Sugarplums (i.e. Emma and Trevor), but they also have neat accessories you can get to use with your Sugarplums. Prince Charming

Every girl dreams of her Prince Charming right? Well, Hero Arts came out with a clear set and a wood block set that includes Mr. Charming himself. Debi made a card using this cool dude and his friend froggy friend. Maybe the frog is another prince waiting to be kissed?
You'll notice in the background is the new Iron Gate punch by MS Crafts. Debi even drew in her own sidewalk and grass... She's great at scenic cards!

Hi Everyone!

Our next Craft Night will be held on:

Date: Friday, April 2, 2010 (Good Friday)
Time: 5:00pm-6:30pm

  • Bring a handmade card to Craft Night- please bring your card in by 5:30pm if you plan on participating. Participation is voluntary, but the more participants we have, the more fun it will be.

  • You may only pull another number if you pulled your own card.

See you then!

April Copic Classes (4/2/10 and 4/3/10)

To everyone who is enrolled in the upcoming Copic classes scheduled for 4/2/10-4/3/10, I thought I'd post the cards we will be making so you can plan what pens you want to bring based on the paper used in the project. Those of you who are enrolled in this Saturday's class (3/27/10), we are still making the pig and fairy Anya cards, so please refer to your class handout for colors.

Sorry, I tend to get bored making the same card for every class, so I need to change it up a bit to keep it interesting! Here's the two projects we will be making in April...

Here's a close up of Emma...

And here's our animal card... This monkey set is currently out of stock, but Island Scrapbooking will be taking orders, so if you would like to order a set, contact the store for more info. Sorry, sets probably won't be in in time for the class, but kits will contain the monkey image.

Here's the close up of the monkey..

A revised copic handout for the April classes will be dropped off at the store by Wednesday, so please check with the store if you are in either of the April classes.

Lookout for more Copic class notices in the newsletter.

New Arrivals

Hi Everyone! Just checking in to let you know that we have received our Hero Arts Shipment! Just in are new Easter wood stamps, clings and gemstones by Hero Arts! If you've been waiting for these stamps, stop in soon for best selection.

We are also thrilled to introduce a new product line to Island Scrapbooking called CC's Designs. These cute stamps are made of high quality red rubber and are all ready to cling to your acrylic block. We have over 30 designs to choose from! Once you see these cuties you'll be hooked!

Don't forget about our Spring Cleaning Sale this weekend!

Coffee, Tea or Flowers?

Don't you just love this teacup? Debi made this card using the cute teacup cling stamp by Hero Arts. Instead of putting tea or coffee in the cup, she opted for flowers- cute idea yah? The cup is a pretty good size, so you can put in something pretty large peeking out of the cup too. I especially love how she added in the little "For You" flag. Reminds me of the ones that come with flower arrangements. I think she used a toothpick to hold the flag.

Do you like the little bunny? You can get these cuties and egg die cuts from Island Scrapbooking.

Monster Sized Birthday

Hello All,

I guess we are on a roll with boy cards... Debi made this cute monster card using one of the new Hero Arts Clear sets that came in. Speaking of Hero Arts, a new shipment of wood stamps is expected in the store soon. The new stamps will feature their spring line of wood stamps- perfect for the season!

Back to the card... Debi used a simple block pattern for the background by layering different papers (designer paper, solids and polka dots). The balloon paper she used is perfect for birthday cards and scrapbook layouts for boys or girls since the colors are very basic and not gender specific.

Just a reminder to start dropping off your sale items for the Spring Cleaning Sale beginning next week Tuesday. Deadline to drop off items is Friday, March 12th. And don't forget to mark your calendars for sale day on March 20th!

You can't really tell from this photo, but I layered the boy's hair, sleeve and dinosaur with mini pop dots. It takes a little more time and effort to do this, but the results come out rather nice.

Stop by the store to see this sample. Here's a close up of the boy.. I think his name is Oliver.

New Miss Anya Love

It's springtime and love is in the air! Miss Anya Love that is! This stamp comes in a set of three Miss Anyas and are all so sweet! I just love that she's holding daisies- one of my favorite flowers! Had to go with the Daisy theme and make a huge daisy behind her using my scallop circle spellbinders. Just made cuts at each scallop so that it resembled a flower. I just love how the yellow looks with the white- so sweet!
