Thank You!

For those of you who missed out on Debi's Anniversary Sale make 'n take, this is another example of that same type of gatefold card. Instead of using the blossom Quickutz die Debi used, I decided to try out my new favorite dies-- the large Sakura! As a twist, I taped down the flaps of the card.

The cover looked a little plain, so I added a label on the bottom with a thank you sentiment.

When you open the card up, it reveals Kiyomi!

And here's a close up of her..

Hope you enjoyed this variation on Debi's make 'n take...

Have A Bright Sunshiney Day!

Here's the last of our Pure Innocence samples to share with you (for now). Don't you love how Debi inked around the girl but yet was able to leave a white border around her too? Check out her blog to find out how she did it... It sounds pretty cool.. I'll definitely need to try it out myself!

Oh yah, forgot to mention that the Pure Innocence stamps are clear and stamp great! They also come with two sentiments that coordinate with each image. Have a great week!

Happy Birthday!

Jen made this cute Pure Innocence card for Island Scrapbooking's birthday. She filled in the cupcake border punch by using liquid pearls red rhinestones for the cherries. She topped it off with one of Island Scrapbooking's custom laser cuts. Doesn't that cupcake look yummy?

Here's a close up of this cutie...

Stop by soon to see more Pure Innocence samples.. or better yet, stop by the store to see them in person!

Stamp Layering Class Bonus

Every so often I like to do a bonus project in my classes. I like to surprise my students and give them a little something extra that they are not expecting using the same techniques as they are learning in the class. Here's the project from my last class. Since the class focused on layering with your stamps, I added this card in using a new Hero Arts cling set by Basic Gray. I love this set! The berries are especially nice to work with. You can't tell from the photo, but I stamped the berries in versamark and added some gold mica powder to it.

In this next photo, I tried to get a shot of the gold...

All stamps are by Hero Arts. It sure was a fun class!

Friends Forever

There she goes again... always making me want to buy a stamp or stamp set that I didn't necessairly want to buy, but when she makes her cards so darn cute, I can't help but want everything she used to make it. Honestly, when Debi wanted this Lawn Fawn frame set, I asked her why. She apparently got inspired by another fellow blogger (sorry, don't know who it was) and wanted to use the frame in her next project. I just love how her card turned out. Almost like a family portrait!

Love how she stamped the frame on patterned paper too. This totally added to the card and now I'm pretty much sold on this set. So simple but so cute! Thanks Debi for another fun idea!

Sister Stamps Make 'N Take

Woah! Can't believe the awesome response to Sister Stamps! I know most of you have already "met" the girls, but we thought we'd treat you to a free make 'n take this Saturday starting at 10:30am at the store to introduce the line to all of you.

In our make 'n take, we'll be making this card featuring Kiyomi. If you plan on attending, we'd appreciate it if you would bring your Copics with you so that more people can participate at once, but this is not required. Below is a listing of copics used in this card.

On this card, I also used a lasercut Arigato by Island Scrapbooking. Did you know Michele sells all kinds of sentiments that are perfectly sized for cardmaking!

Here's a close up of Kiyomi.
Hope to see you on Saturday!

Last of the Dandelion Designs Samples

Did you have a nice long weekend? Just wanted to share the last of the Dandelion Designs samples that were sent with our order. Jean comes up with the neatest projects and need to be showcased! Here she used the new Friends cling stamp (which is my favorite!) and made some shoji (is that how you spell it?) doors on her card...

Aaww- isn't that cute? When you open the doors, it reveals the two girls inside. It reminds me of me and my sister. I just love how they are holding hands too! These sets are selling like hotcakes, so if you want one, better stop in soon.

Dandelion Fun Trip Sample

Hi! Back again with another Dandelion Designs Sample from the new Fun Trip cling set. This set is perfect for little boys or anyone going on vacation. Wouldn't it be fun to use this set to give the kiddies some fun vacation $$ before a trip? That's what I'm probably gonna use it for. And as usual, Dandelion included a cool project sheet that works well with these images. Check it out...

Woah... What happened to the doggie? I think his plan wants to take off already! This mechanism is controlled by that red tab at the bottom right corner. Neat huh? These sets are selling out fast, so stop in to see this and the rest of the samples.

Dandelion Sunny Days Cling Set Project

As promised, here's the sample that came with our last shipment of Dandelion Designs stamps. Isn't she so cute?

When you first see the beach chair stamp, its hard to imagine what you can do with it... take a look at the next photo for a pop-up idea...

Isn't that so cool? Love how she's able to sit in her beach chair while being served some lemonade. Stop in for a better look at this cool card- remember that the instructions on how to make this card comes with it!

Darcie Stamps

A new stamp company has arrived and boy are they cute! Darcie stamps are cling sets that already come mounted and pre-cut. Used the set called Potted Pals on this card. Also used the new lacey ovals Spellbinders set that arrived recently. BTW- this stamp set also comes with a couple of sentiments- I used one of them on the inside of the card. Its a great value for the amount of stamps you get.

More Masculine Cards Class

Most of us have a difficult time making cards for men. Tracy will be coming out of teaching hibernation to help you make some cool masculine cards in this class... just in time for Father's Day! Students will make these two cards and learn how to make a pizza box for a small gift.

Tri-Shutter Card Bases

Do you love the look of the tri-shutter card but don't like doing all that cutting? Well, we're making it easy for you... you can now buy pre-cut tri-shutter card bases at Island Scrapbooking. They come 6 to one pack and cost is $5 each- see store for more info. It takes all the guess work of where to cut- you just fold it up and decorate!

I love this butterfly paper and wanted to use it on something, so I added it to the middle panel of the card. Those little butterflies reminded me of the Hero Arts butterfly set I had, so I inked it up and colored the butterflies with my copics to match the ones on the paper. For some fun, I hung one of the butterflies using fishing line so it looks like it is flying. Here's a close up of the butterflies on the front of the card.

Happy Easter!

I love it when I teach a class and later on see what my student's make using the same technique. Jenny R. came up with this cute Easter themed card using the pleated center pop up technique. Just look at the inside of the card...

So cute yah? She used the Dandelion Designs cling set for the inside and a Happy Easter laser cut from Island Scrapbooking. These laser cut sentiments will make your life easier if you are making a lot of cards. They are cut in white, so you can color them if you need a specific color. Love how she made the bunny sitting on the fence. I imagine the Easter Bunny would need to take a break after delivering all those goodies!

Sing

Another creation by Jenny R. using that pretty paper. She's totally inspired me to buy this paper too! No matter how many times I walk around the store, there is always new stuff to look at. Back to the card.. this time, Jenny embossed our favorite TGF stamp- Sing in gold on metallic brown cardstock. Love it! So easy peasy- no coloring whatsoever!

Cowabunga Dude!

Island Scrapbooking has been invaded by surfers! Hurry, Surfer Anya is going quickly! I think there's just enough time to post this project before she sells out. She is the newest Anya in the Greeting Farm collection and boy is she a cutie! Found my old set of ocean sentiments by CC's and used the "Seas the day" sentiment on the cover. Don't know if you can tell from the photo, but I used some diamond glaze on the surfboard to give it a shiny look.

Here's what the card looks like when its opened- Ta Daaa! Yup, made another pleated center pop up card. Meant to finish this up before my classes last week, but glad I waited since I could incorporate Surfer Anya on the front.

I've gotten a few questions already on how I made the wave- well it was just cut free hand (sorry no template used), then I used my alcohol inks and blender tool (with felt instead of foam) and blotted it onto the acetate to turn it blue. Then I went over it again with a pearly white and silver inks for the "foam". I'm pretty sure you could use copic ink since its alcohol based to get the same effect.

After I mounted Ian, he looked kinda lonely, so I used the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea set and inked up the turtle and hermit crab so he wouldn't be so lonely. That is such a cute set and a great way to add some accents for beach themed cards and scrapbook pages.

In addition to Surfer Anya, we also received Daisy and Twirl Anya. Surfer Anya is going fast, so you'll have to hurry if you want to get your hands on her!
