July 2010 Newsletter

July... Really? Hilo's weather is so unpredictable... Some days its so hot and sunny, and other days its rainy and overcast... its hard to tell we are in the middle of summer! Lucky for us its not too hot! Perfect weather for crafting!

July Craft Night
The next Craft Night is scheduled for Friday, July 2, 2010 from 5:00pm-6:30pm. We are planning to do a Make 'n Take and will show you the many things your Big Shot can do. We will also be hosting a Card Drawing again, so please bring in your handmade card to Craft Night if you want to participate. Participation is voluntary. If you have questions about Craft Night or the Card Drawing, please contact the store.

Have a suggestion for Craft Night topics? If so, please let us know! We are always interested in knowing what you are wanting to learn.

Summer Hours:
Just a reminder that every Saturday, we will be closing early at 2:00pm. Thank you for your understanding! The only exceptions are when classes are scheduled in the afternoons.

Fall Clearance Sale Reminder...
For those of you who are busy cleaning out your craft rooms, you might want to start putting things aside for our next Fall Clearance Sale. We haven't set a date yet but are looking at either late August or early September. Its never too early to go through your stuff to see what you want to sell. We will provide more information in next month's newsletter.

July 2010 Classes:

Stationary Box Class

Learn how to make this personalized stationary gift set for someone special (or yourself!). In addition to the box itself, you will also be making 5 simple notecards , 3x3 notecards and tags to fill your stationary box.

Please note: actual class project may use different paper.

Date: Saturday, July 24, 2010
Time: 10:30am-1:00pm
Cost: $25

Supplies: Scissors, double stick tape, trimmer w/scoreblade.

Christmas Card Club
What? Christmas in July? Yes! Get a head start on your Christmas card projects this year. Every month until Christmas join Jenny in making some simple Christmas cards, tags, gift card holders, etc. This is a low stress, fun way to get together with fellow crafters and have some fun. Each class will feature between 3-5 projects (depending on degree of difficulty).

Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
Cost: $15 per class

Supplies: scissors, double stick tape, and markers.

Copic Blending Class

Time for another Copic Blending Class with Jenny. Learn how to make the most of your markers by learning 2 blending techniques. Sudents will leave with 2 completed projects. Class size is limited due to personalized attention for each student.

Time: 10:30am-12:30pm
Cost; $20
Instructor: Jenny
Supplies: You will be provided with a recommended list of Copics to bring with you to class. No sharing please. Students should also bring double stick tape and scissors.

Distress Techniques

Debi is back with more Distress ink techniques! You will learn basic blending and emboss resist techniques in this class.

Supplies: scissors, double stick tape, Copics. If you have a craft mat and distress blending tool, please bring (not required).
