August 2010 Newsletter

It’s back to school time again! Where oh where did the summer go?? Wait, its still technically summer right? After you get those kiddos back to school, you might have a bit more time to craft, so we have some fun things planned for you this month. Keep reading to see what’s new and upcoming classes.

August Craft Night:
Our next Craft Night will be held on Friday, August 6th from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Since its still summer, we thought you could use a bookmark to help with your summer reading. Our make ‘n take will be a corner bookmark- which is also a great back to school goodie for all those kids who need to start reading again.





We will again host a one card drawing. Participation is again optional, but the more participants we have the more fun it will be. To make it more challenging, please bring in a card with a “Summer” theme. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Admissions Day Sale:
Admissions Day is on Friday, August 20th. To celebrate, we will be having some in-store specials that day. Please check the blog for sale updates later this month.

Fall Clearance Sale Time!
Our next Fall Clearance sale will be held on Saturday, September 18th. Just some sale reminders:

· For those of you who plan on selling items this time around, please drop off your items by September 11th to the store.
· Please make sure you label all of your items with removable labels (we like masking tape) with your initials, price of each item and corresponding number to your list.
· Please factor in an additional 20% per item that will go to the store.
· All payments and return of unsold items will take place the following week.

For those of you who don’t plan on selling anything, don’t forget to stop in on sale day for some great deals on used craft items AND in-store specials for one day only. Please remember to bring in cash for all Fall Clearance sale items- no checks or credit cards please. If you have any questions regarding the sale, please contact the store.

Hero Arts Pre-Sale:
We have received the new Hero Arts Holiday Supplement and will be placing an order soon. We are offering a pre-sale to our customers who pre-pay for ordered items at a discounted rate of 10% off pre-sale items only. Please place your order and pay by Thursday, August 5th.

New Releases:
We are expecting a shipment of Sizzix dies very soon- please check the blog regularly for updates on what has arrived in the store.

Gift Card Holders- Part 2

Gift cards are more popular than ever! What better way to package your gift card up than by making your own! Jenny will show you two new techniques for making gift card holders in this class.

Distress Techniques

Ever wonder how to use those Distress Inks by Ranger? Debi will show you three different techniques using Distress Inks in this class that will dazzle your friends and family.

Explosion Box Gift Card Holder

Learn a new way to box your gift card that will impress the recipient. This project combines the popular Explosion Box with a gift card holder.

Christmas Card Club
This month we will be making Christmas themed gift card holders. If you missed out on Jenny’s first Gift Card Holder class that was taught late last year, this will be a repeat of the pop up gift card holder and accordion gift card holder, only in Christmas themes. Once you make these easy peasy holders, you’ll want to make all of them in advance so you can have a stress free gift giving season.
