Thank You!

For those of you who missed out on Debi's Anniversary Sale make 'n take, this is another example of that same type of gatefold card. Instead of using the blossom Quickutz die Debi used, I decided to try out my new favorite dies-- the large Sakura! As a twist, I taped down the flaps of the card.

The cover looked a little plain, so I added a label on the bottom with a thank you sentiment.

When you open the card up, it reveals Kiyomi!

And here's a close up of her..

Hope you enjoyed this variation on Debi's make 'n take...

Creative Crafting

We love receiving projects from our customers... this cool bag was made by Mardi. Isn't that jack-o-lantern the cutest? It's a pin too, so you can take it off the package and wear him if you wish. I think that pin is made out of a flasher- which would be great for trick-or-treaters.

Isn't that bag so neat? It's made out of fabric and I'm told that it also glows in the dark! Thanks Mardi!

My Fairy Princess Folder Book

Tracy is pretty genius when it comes to making mini scrapbooks. She took that Quickutz folder die and made this awesome little mini scrapbook using the new Greeting Farm clear fairy stamp set. The set comes with the three original fairies that were discontinued and are now offered as a clear stamp set and are smaller than the originals. Perfect for fairies don't you think? The set also comes with the sentiment shown here and mushrooms.

Here's a close up of Tink...
And here's the inside of one of the pages... she even distressed the folder paper inside!!

Wanted to show you one of the pages where both sides have pockets.

Awesome project Tracy... hmmm, maybe she'll teach a class in the future.

Here's the last of our Pure Innocence samples to share with you (for now). Don't you love how Debi inked around the girl but yet was able to leave a white border around her too? Check out her blog to find out how she did it... It sounds pretty cool.. I'll definitely need to try it out myself!

Oh yah, forgot to mention that the Pure Innocence stamps are clear and stamp great! They also come with two sentiments that coordinate with each image. Have a great week!

Happy Birthday!

Jen made this cute Pure Innocence card for Island Scrapbooking's birthday. She filled in the cupcake border punch by using liquid pearls red rhinestones for the cherries. She topped it off with one of Island Scrapbooking's custom laser cuts. Doesn't that cupcake look yummy?

New Products Revealed!

We just wanted to thank everyone who stopped by and helped us to celebrate our 8th Anniversary! Customers had a lot of fun shopping, eating, playing games and doing our free make 'n takes!

So if you were not able to join us for our 8th Anniversary party on 10/8, here's what you missed... we brought in some new product lines that we think you'll love! First up is Pure Innocence clear stamps by My Favorite Things. These clear stamps come in a set with sentiments to coordinate with each image. They stamp great too!
I couldn't resist making this little girl actually swing! I didn't have a good tree stamp that was big enough, so I used the Lawn Fawn tree from the Critters in the Burb's set and stamped it three times on cardstock that I had already distressed using my Distress inks. Since the background paper had an autumn feel, I wanted my tree to look like it was autumn too, so I picked reds, oranges and browns instead of green. Instead of the tree trunk, I opted for a wider branch and used the log from the Lawn Fawn critters in the forest set. Love how these stamps work well together. Here's a shot of this cutie swinging away...See she can go back...
And forth!

OK- true story.... When I showed this card to Debi and Tracy, they both asked me if she was swinging from a cloud!? I guess my "autum" tree leaves didn't come out exactly as planned!

Anyway, these little cuties come in all different poses and great matching sentiments! Love them all and can't wait to see what you come up with!

The other product line we were able to bring to you is a line you might already be familiar with... Lifestyle Crafts (formerly known as Quickutz) has great wafer thin dies in all kinds of shapes. Some even come in nested shapes, so you will have flexibility on the size of your die cut.

I chose this cute lantern die to work with. Reminds me of the ones we used to make in elementary school except cuter. My first try didn't come out exactly as I had hoped. So I did a re-do at the store and was so much happier with the results. Decided to cut the lantern out of vellum instead of cardstock and it made a world of difference. Stamped each lantern using a Stampendous sakura branch stamp using stazon black ink. Since I used stazon, I couldn't color directly on the area that I had stamped, so I ended up coloring on the back of the vellum instead and it worked out quite well.

We think if you left it on the table and stuck a tea light inside it would be quite cute!

Check back on Tuesday for a list of winners from the Anniversary Sale.

Stamp Layering Class Bonus

Every so often I like to do a bonus project in my classes. I like to surprise my students and give them a little something extra that they are not expecting using the same techniques as they are learning in the class. Here's the project from my last class. Since the class focused on layering with your stamps, I added this card in using a new Hero Arts cling set by Basic Gray. I love this set! The berries are especially nice to work with. You can't tell from the photo, but I stamped the berries in versamark and added some gold mica powder to it.

In this next photo, I tried to get a shot of the gold...

All stamps are by Hero Arts. It sure was a fun class!
