Our First Craft Night!

Happy Aloha Friday!

Today was the first of our Aloha Friday Craft Nights at Island Scrapbooking. We thought it would be fun for our customers to be able to come in after our normal store hours to socialize, learn something new, and shop! We were happy to see that despite Downtown Hilo's Black and White Night, many of our customers still made it.

We decided to do an informational session on Copic Markers since so many of our customers have so many questions on these awesome pens. I provided handouts with a lot of information and Michele demo'd how to refill your pens. Tracy and Kelli provided additional feedback on their experiences in using Copics. Hopefully we answered everyone's questions and that they found the information helpful. Extra copies of the handouts are available at the store, so just ask Michele or Tracy if you want a copy.

Michele also donated a Copics prize which included a pen holder, multiliners, Ciaos and Spica markers. Gail was the lucky winner for the night... Congratulations Gail! In addition, there was an in-store special on Copic markers for customers who attended the session.

In addition to the informational session, Island Scrapbooking also hosted a Card Drawing. We had 10 participants that submitted a card. After the cards were numbered, participants picked numbers and whatever number they picked, they got to keep the card with the same number. Just another nice way to share ideas with fellow crafters.

Feedback on our first Craft Night was very positive. We are planning to hold Craft Nights every first Friday of the month after work. If you have a suggestion on what types of topics you want to learn more about, let us know here by posting or come in the store and make a suggestion. This is just our little way of giving back to our customers. Thank you to all who made our first Craft Night a success! If you missed it, we hope you can join us for next month's Craft Night! Stay tuned for more information as the date gets nearer. Ta ta for now!
